Does Trent have a realistic shot of winning that job? What if Arden Conyers has really developed during his redshirt?
My point -is it a given that Cam is SG1 on day1?

I think Conyers is more of a 3 or stretch 4. At least that is how I’ve interpreted the limited intel on him.
I think Noah is going to be instant shooting off the bench which I don’t think we had much of last season.
I actually think Wright will start to begin the season but make way for Cam by conference play.

Neither will likely start right away. Stute starts at the 2 next season.

My guess is yes on Scott. Stute is not a 2, so Scott will have every to start but like you, I am intrigued by what Noah and Conyers can offer.

Feel like I don’t know much about Conyers. Can you fill me in on his status and what expectations we should have for next season?

Stute does not have the playing making or ball handling ability to play the 2.

Wright may start, but unless his game steps up he'll be behind two others very rapidly.

Cam of course has to win the job, but if he plays behind someone my guess is it would more likely be Ugusuk than any of the guys you mention.

That would be highly unlikely. Scott will start at 2 with a chance at being a 1 and Done. I would guess Stute’s role is similar to this past year where he and Davis are manning the 3 spot (unless we go smaller lineup for a run).

Cam Scott playing behind Morris Ugusuk?

Lmfaooo Stute is not starting at the 2. He is a wing and not a ball handler in the slightest. If any of the wings are going to be at the 2 some it’ll be Davis.

Wright is really the only other guard that we have that has played any significant minutes as a PG for us and if he starts at the 2 that means your 2nd team is going to be littered with freshmen and sophom*ores that haven’t played a ton like Ugusuk, Scott, Noah, and Conyers. Right now the lineup that makes the most sense is Thomas at PG, Scott at the 2, Davis at the 3, CMB at the 4, and Pringle at the 5. Then you have 2 seniors in Stute and Wright to help with the 2nd unit like Noah, Ugusuk, Butler, and Fredrikko. The guy that gets lost is BBV who is probably the 2nd PF behind CMB at least to start the season.

Some of y’all need to go watch Cam Scott highlights again.
He is a Day 1 starter and probably the 2nd best guy on the team the moment he steps on campus.

Not sure who starts, but I do think Noah and Scott's minutes will be very similar. We're losing 3 of our top 4 scorers, and both those guys have the ability to put up points. Plus they score in different ways, IMO will see them on the floor together a fair amount of minutes.
Honestly I think Noah may average more points, but Scott will be much better in every other category.

Have mentioned it several times, spoke with JW at the golf tournament, staff is high on Ugusuk and Conyers, feels Noah would be 8, 9 off the bench. I'm excited to see if Noah can develop into Rex Chapman lite, maybe not as athletic but a sniper, UK fans mention Chapman's name in so far as his shooting ability.

I've heard the Chapman thing several times too. Which if you're old enough to have seen Chapman play, you know thats a huge compliment! Ky folks still consider that guy a B-ball god.
I think Noah is going to be hard to keep off the court. His 3 ball alone should get him some minutes, plus I think the rest of his game may be a little underrated. KY HS basketball is no joke, and Noah was dominant. Some of the more rural schools may not have the athletic talent that other states have, but they play a tough relentless style of ball.
I do have to admit that I'm probably a little biased due to where he's from and having family in the area that have seen him play first hand. I have watched a few of his games and a ton of his clips, but I'm mainly going off the world of others. So I could definitely be wrong, but I sure hope not.

Mo does not appear to be a SG. I think Cam will play the most minutes at the 2 even if he does not start.

I think you're most likely looking at Thomas-Scott-Davis-CMB-Pringle. Wright and Stute will play heavy minutes. How the rotation rounds out behind that who knows. I imagine Butler will be given plenty of opportunity to carve out a role behind Pringle, but maybe Federiko is better. Ugusuk, Noah, and Conyers will likely just got spot minutes.
We effectively settled into an 8 man rotation by the end of last year with 7 guys getting heavy (20+ minutes) and Gray as the backup big getting 10-12. I think we have a pretty established top 7 heading into the offseason with the backup big role up for grabs.

If he doesn't win the job, it more likely to be Ugusuk than a freshman or redshirt, IMO.

I feel like we potentially need to know if Davis is shooting in the 20s from three before answering the question as to whether he or Stute or someone else starts.
I don't have a lot of confidence in bad shooters making a ton of progress, but getting to something like average might be the good.
